Melissa Matthews Bespoke Brows and Aesthetics

Hi, I’m Melissa. I’ve been working in the beauty industry since 2011 and love what I do. I started my business in April 2017 and welcomed over a hundred clients in my first year. Seeing my clients happy with their transformation gives me such a buzz. That’s why I decided to specialise in semi-permanent make-up – there’s nothing quite like seeing the journey a client goes on, and making sure that they are 100% relaxed and confident in what I am doing. Based in Portsmouth, I specialise in advanced and bespoke brow techniques, and use the most up-to-date equipment so that you get the best results. I am also fully qualified, licenced and insured, so you can be assured you are in good hands! In January 2017, I decided to train in digital microblading. I chose to do this with Andrew Stassi from Smudge-free, because I wanted the highest level of training available, including practical and theoretical knowledge. I’m making sure that I continue my training, so that my skills are as current as possible. I’m happy to advise you on what treatment will suit you best – get in touch if you have any questions, and let me help you take the first step towards beautiful brows! call now 07792 188423.

Hairstroke brows £240

This technique achieves the most natural-looking effect. An ultra-fine needle is used to create 3D hair-like strokes, enhancing, defining and adding symmetry.

Ombre brows £260

Do you pencil or powder your eyebrows daily? Ombre brows will give you a fuller/tinted look.

Combination brows £285

The ultimate brow treatment, these start with hairstrokes, then continue into ombre, giving a natural yet defined brow.

Services

Dermaplaning

1

£49 or 4 for £150 This is a deep exfoliation treatment, removing fine vellus hair (‘peach fuzz’) and dead skin cells from your face. It leaves your skin smooth and radiant, and can also improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and acne scaring. The smooth finish is also excellent for the soft and flawless application of make-up, eliminating the ‘caked up’ look. Once the vellus hair and dead skin cells are removed, greater penetration of any skincare product is achieved. The hair will grow back again, but not fuller or thicker. It is recommended that you repeat it every 6–10 weeks for best results. Or have a one-off treatment for a special occasion such as a wedding or holiday. .

Brow techniques

I use an advanced technique called digital microblading. This means that I can guarantee the most accurate and consistent results because of the regulated pressure of the machine. The needles it uses are ultra-fine to ensure fast healing and long-lasting results. I prefer to use a pigment brand called Ecuri. They are the finest and purest available on the market and are approved by both German and Dutch authorities, who have the most stringent laws and regulations in Europe for intra-dermal pigment use. .

Consultation

3

Initial consultations are free! When you want to go ahead and book an appointment, a £50 deposit is required, which is deducted from the total amount payable. The rest of the payment can be split between your first appointment and your top-up appointment 4–6 weeks later. Please note: deposits are non-refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment. A patch test must be carried out at least 48 hours before your appointment. I do not carry out annual top-ups on another technician’s work, because everyone works slightly differently so it is usually seen as a correction. You will be charged full price for your initial appointment with me, after which your annual top-ups will be heavily discounted. .

FAQ's

What is semi permanent Make up

1

Also known as micropigmentation, semi-permanent make-up is great for those with sparse, over-plucked or even non-existent eyebrows. A small amount of pigmentation is inserted into the dermal layer of the skin giving the appearance of a defined brow, without the fear of it wearing off whatever you are up to. It’s hassle-free and can save you time on your daily beauty regime. Can anyone have semi-permanent make-up? Most people can have this treatment, not matter how little or how much natural hair they have. You can’t have semi-permanent make-up if you are: pregnant or breastfeeding taking blood-thinning medication under the age of 18 .

How long will it last

2

Generally, semi-permanent make-up can last anything from 1–4 years. But this is totally dependent on each individual. For example, sun exposure, skin type and lifestyle can all have an effect. For best results, I recommend an annual top-up every 9–12 months to keep them looking their best. What happens at my appointment? When you come to your appointment, I numb the area and then measure and draw on the correct and suitable shape. We then choose the pigment colour most suitable to your skin tone and hair colour. Once you are happy and comfortable with the shape and colour we will start the procedure. The appointment takes between 1.5–2 hours. Once finished, I will advise you on aftercare. .

Will it hurt

3

Don’t worry! I numb the area first to minimise any discomfort. Most clients don’t feel much at all, but pigment is being inserted into the dermal layer of the skin using a fine needle, so some describe a mild ‘scratch’ sensation. Rest assured, my aim is to make you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. What happens at my appointment?
